We are seeking a Part-Time Animal Care Associate at our Adirondack Region Cat Adoption Center in Glen Falls, NY, to provide the day to day care of the Adoption Center animals to ensure their general health and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and disinfect animal cages, habitats, living spaces, food dishes and litter pans.
- Feed animals the appropriate type and amount of food according to their written instructions.
- Ensure that animals have fresh water at all times.
- Observe animal appearance and activity for general physical condition, obvious signs of illness, disease and discontent reporting any signs of concern directly to a member of the medical staff, Adoption Center Manager or Director.
- Complete notes on Daily Observation Sheet.
- Be familiar with all felines including habits, behavior, and medical conditions.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the facility including utility rooms and bathrooms.
- Cleaning duties included but are not limited to sweep/vacuuming and mopping of floors, scrub and disinfecting walls and floors, daily laundry.
- Complete daily checklists as required.
- Restock food and other supplies as needed. When items are low, notify appropriate staff.
- Be sure animal records/cage and habitat forms are accurate and readily available.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Positive and friendly attitude.
- Previous experience working in a cleaning/sanitizing role preferred.
- Experience working hands-on with animals in a shelter environment or veterinary facility a plus.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Willingness to maintain sanitation of animal areas.
- Desire to make a positive difference in the lives of animals.
