Giving Day Brings Animal League America Supporters Together

It was a glorious evening on the Monarch Rooftop June 6 for our Wooftop® party, where friends of North Shore Animal League America showed up in force to kick off our Giving Day fundraiser. Animal League America supporters were rewarded with puppy love, in addition to great food, lively music, and even specialty “Rescue Sparkler” cocktails from Wooftop sponsor Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

With a stunning view of the Empire State Building in the background, attendees mingled to the music of DJ Teal and her adorable doggy assistant DJ Mixmaster Marley, while sampling the wide array of culinary offerings. To provide guests with lasting memories of the occasion, there was a photo booth and live sketch artist Alli Arnold created delightful, on-the-spot pet portraits.

This year’s Wooftop was particularly special because it marked our first in-person event since 2019. As one guest noted, “It feels great knowing I’m helping save animals, plus you just can’t snuggle these puppies virtually!”

Giving Day, which we celebrate annually on June 10, is our biggest fundraiser of the year. It was established to commemorate our founding in 1944, and most importantly the 1.1 million animal lives we have saved to date. Thanks to our sponsor Swiffer and another generous donor, this year’s Giving Day contributions were matched, dollar for dollar, up to $150,000.

It’s still not too late if you’d like to make a donation
in support of Giving Day — every gift helps!
