Festive NYC Wooftop® Celebration Kicks Off 2023 Giving Day

Our supporters turned out in force to kick off our 2023 Giving Day in style! More than a hundred supporters gathered in the High Line Room of The Standard Hotel – located in the heart of the Meatpacking District in NYC – on June 9 to celebrate North Shore Animal League America and raise funds for our lifesaving mission.

The night’s host was rescue advocate, legendary Q104.3 radio announcer, and the host of the Maria’s Mutts & Stuff podcast Maria Milito. She also had the enviable task of introducing Frankie the senior French Bulldog, who was the night’s featured rescue pet! After watching a recap of Frankie’s inspiring transformation and happy adoption, attendees applauded the Crystal Collar Award® recipient Fetch Pet Insurance, honored for their partnership and dedication to Animal League America.

Out on the rooftop, guests shopped vendors and enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails – including The Salty Dog, courtesy of event sponsor Tito’s Handmade Vodka – while taking in picturesque views of the Hudson River. Canine companions were welcome to join the party and Animal League America chihuahua mascot Levi was happy to pose for pictures with everyone.

Even a little drizzle did not dampen any spirits. As one guest commented, “For the cost of a dinner out in NYC, we can have great food, drinks and entertainment, but we get the added bonus of supporting a cause we love!” Giving Day, celebrated by Animal League America annually on June 10, was established to commemorate our founding in 1944, and most importantly the 1.1 million dogs, cats, puppies and kittens saved to date. This year, with the help from generous donors, every Giving Day contribution was matched up to $100,000.

There’s still time to support our efforts by making a gift or bidding on the exceptional items available in our online auction. Don’t miss out! The auction ends June 23 at 5pm. Together we can transform more lives and thank you to everyone who is helping us create a no-kill world for homeless animals.

Special Thanks To Our Sponsors
