Meet Oliver2024-11-04T10:56:43-04:00

Oliver came to North Shore Animal League America in late 2022 as part of a lifesaving mission with Paws4Life, our Louisiana-based rescue partner.

We don’t know what this sweet dog has endured, however our Pet Behavior team observed his fearfulness and has worked with him to ease his anxiety and make him comfortable. Oliver was also diagnosed with epilepsy and requires several daily medications, most likely for the rest of his life. This big dog with an even bigger heart has so much love to give, and we feel privileged to have him in our care. Thank you to his Sponsors, who ensure he has the medical attention and nurturing he needs!

Oliver is thriving and full of energy, loving his daily runs with dad Morgan. He’s settled into a comfortable routine and enjoys spending time with his human family much more than other dogs. Olli is incredibly friendly, greeting everyone he meets with enthusiastic tail wags and plenty of licks. His favorite activities include playing fetch in the yard and lounging in the sun, soaking up every bit of warmth alongside Morgan.

June 2024

Oliver is home! Morgan volunteered at Animal League America and recognized Oliver’s true worth, and they formed an unbreakable bond. Morgan would take Oliver on walks and then field trips, and finally knew it was time to make it official. The first night in his new home, Oliver had difficulty believing it. According to Morgan, “Oliver checked on me 20 times. He would get up in my face, sniff me, lick me, and be like, all right, you’re still here.” Thanks to his Sponsors for making his dream come true!

February 2024

Oliver was transported to us from our Louisiana-based rescue partner in February 2022 and since then has come a long way to overcome his fearfulness. Our Pet Behavior team has worked with him to ease his anxiety and make him comfortable. Oliver was also diagnosed with epilepsy and requires several daily medications. One look at Oliver’s soulful face and you can see he has so much love to give. We know there’s a home for Oliver where he can continue his training, and with patience and guidance, he’ll be the dog we know he can be.

November 2023

Oliver is still hopeful he will find a family of his own to adore him, but in the meantime, he’s getting lots of attention and affection at our Adoption Center. Our Pet Behavior team continues to work with Oliver to overcome his fearfulness and ease his anxiety, and the medication controls his epilepsy. Oliver has so much love to give, and we feel privileged to have him in our care.
