How to Write a Social Media Post Showcasing Adoptable Animals
Posting a social media bio to draw in potential adopters can be tricky. Learn how to succinctly capture the animals’ spirit, and have your followers turn into adopters!
Showcasing adoptable animals is one of the most vital social media posts for North Shore Animal League America. Short bios describing the animals can draw in supporters of the shelter who may not have been looking for an animal.
We try to keep our animal bio posts to two to four sentences. Sometimes, if the animal has a special story we may share it, but that is a rarity.
You should describe the animal you’re showcasing with personality! Think of how you describe your pet to other people who have not met them. In our experience, we begin with age, gender, and breed, then move on to personality and quirks.
It’s hard to know intimately every animal in your shelter, but having discussions with associates, vet techs, and volunteers is a helpful start. From there, you can build a recognizable personality for adopters. For example, the sweet cuddle bug is a classic example of describing an older animal, and an energetic walk-happy fuzz ball is a recognizable personality.
That’s a lot to keep in mind for just a little bit of text! But crafting animal bios on social media can help draw in adopters who know what they’re looking for, and it’s your adoptable animal!
Below, we have included a basic example of an adoptable animal social media post:
We hope this helped with your future social media crafting and promotes adoptions of your adoptable animals. Good Luck!
